Is there any freeware that i can compose music and listen to it on my computer?

Like Forte Free or even Mixcraft, just something that's free.. (if youre wondering why i don't use Forte Free, it's because I downloaded it but for some reason I can't listen to it on my computer...) So can someone name a software i can download where i can make music and write notes with a grand staff or something on my computer and listen to it that's free (cause i don't have a credit card and can't put my mom's online).
